Terms of Use

Please read these terms before using Discover Newent. Last updated 10 October 2026.

1. Who we are

Discover Newent (discovernewent.co.uk, including the Newent Town Tour) is run by GMT Solutions Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 06163753, with its registered office at 32A Broad Street, Newent, Gloucestershire, GL18 1AJ. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean GMT Solutions Limited, and “the site” means Discover Newent and everything on it.

You can contact us using the contact form on this site, by calling 01531 888256, or by writing to the address above.

2. Accepting these terms

By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. We may update these terms from time to time by changing this page, and the version shown here when you use the site is the one that applies. These terms are in addition to any separate agreement we have with a business for a paid or premium listing.

3. A free community service

Discover Newent is provided free of charge to the community. We do not guarantee that the site, or any part of it, will always be available, uninterrupted, secure or free from errors. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the site, including the Town Tour, at any time and without notice.

4. Information on the site

Everything on the site is for general information only. We write descriptions in our own words and check them against published sources when we write them, but details such as opening times, prices, event dates, contact details, services, ownership and historical information can change or be wrong. Please confirm anything important directly with the organisation or business concerned before you rely on it or travel.

Nothing on the site is professional, medical, legal or financial advice. Information about health, emergency and public services is provided as a signpost only. In an emergency, always call 999. For urgent medical help that is not an emergency, contact NHS 111.

5. The business directory

Business listings are provided for information only. A listing does not mean that we, or GMT Solutions Limited, endorse, recommend, check or guarantee that business, its qualifications, insurance, goods or services. Any arrangement you make with a business is between you and that business alone, and we are not a party to it.

Some listings may be premium or featured listings, which can appear more prominently. Premium placement is a form of advertising and is not a recommendation.

6. Search and the “Ask” feature

Search results and answers from the “Ask” feature are produced automatically from information on the site and may be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Please treat them as a starting point and check the details with the organisation concerned.

7. The Newent Town Tour

The Town Tour is a self-guided walk. You take part entirely at your own risk and are responsible for your own safety and that of anyone with you, especially children. In particular:

Many buildings on the tour are private homes or businesses. Please view them from public streets and footpaths only, respect the privacy of the people who live and work there, and do not enter private property unless it is open to the public.

The route line and GPS position are approximate and depend on your device, signal and the map data. Pop-ups may appear early, late or not at all. The map route is a guide, not a guarantee that a path is a public right of way or is passable.

If you use the GPS feature, your location is used within your own browser to show your position and trigger the pop-ups. It is not sent to us. Your tour progress is saved only in your browser.

8. Information you send us

If you send us details for a listing, an event, a correction or an enquiry, you confirm that the information is accurate, that you are entitled to share it, and, for a business, that you are authorised to act for it. You give us permission to store, edit, shorten, publish and display it on the site, free of charge. We may decline, change or remove any listing or submission at any time and without giving a reason.

Please do not send anything that is false, misleading, offensive, unlawful, or that infringes anyone else’s rights.

9. Acceptable use

You must not:

We may block or restrict access for anyone who breaks these terms.

10. Our content and other people’s

The design, text, layout and selection of content on the site belong to us or are used with permission. You may view, print and share links to pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. You must not copy or republish substantial parts of the site without our written permission.

Business names, logos and photos belong to their owners. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors and is available under the Open Database Licence. Our sources are listed on our Credits & sources page. If you believe something on the site infringes your rights, please contact us and we will look into it promptly.

11. Links to other websites

The site links to websites run by other people. We have no control over them and are not responsible for their content, availability, accuracy or how they use your information. A link does not mean we endorse that website.

12. Our liability to you

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under the law of England and Wales.

Subject to that, and because the site is provided free of charge:

If you use the site as a consumer, you also have legal rights that these terms do not affect.

13. Cookies

We use Google Analytics cookies only if you accept them, to understand how the site is used. We do not use advertising cookies. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.

14. General

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest will still apply. If we do not enforce any of these terms straight away, we can still enforce them later. Only you and we have rights under these terms.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales, but if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.

15. Corrections and complaints

If something on the site is wrong, or you would like your business or organisation added, changed or removed, please contact us or call 01531 888256 and we will deal with it as soon as we reasonably can.
