St Mary's Church, Hartpury
Hartpury church – a simple 11th century grade 1 listed building – is about 1½ miles from the main parish centre. It is part of a group of eight listed buildings and monuments including the much-visited Bee Shelter in the churchyard and, nearby the Court, Tithe Barn, Water-mill, and Old Dominican Chapel. This was superbly restored by Hartpury Heritage Trust as a community hall, and is regularly used by the church community and others. We are probably quite typical of a rural parish, in that most of our congregation are elderly and also quite traditionalist. But although small, we are a very friendly and welcoming group, and would dearly love to have more younger people amongst us. There is a strong feeling of friendship and caring for each other. Coffee is served in the church after morning services.

St Mary's Church, Linton
It is quite possible that St Mary's is the oldest church in the Benefice - many of the elements of its design and geography ( its hilltop positioning, the circular graveyard, and the ancient yew tree) point to the possibility that the church was built to replace an earlier pagan shrine. The yew tree itself is certainly the pre-eminent feature of the churchyard - standing just opposite the south porch, it is of a great age, though (as with all ancient trees), it cannot be known for certain exactly how old it is. The botanist David Bellamy reportedly said that he thought it could be up to 4,000 years old - it is certainly amongst the oldest trees in the whole country. Disaster struck when, in 1998, the tree was deliberately set on fire, causing extensive damage which killed the central stem. However, the outer shell survived, and the tree continues to thrive.

St Peter's Church
St Peter’s church is the focal point of Clifford’s Mesne, a small village near the market town of Newent in north-west Gloucestershire. The church was built in 1882 on an area of common land (some of the common survives, adjoining the churchyard to the north, and is used for the village fete and other events). The area enclosed for church and churchyard was only 0.4ha (1 acre) but the shallow, free-draining soil of this small burial ground supports an astonishing diversity of grassland and heathland plants – over 100 species at the last count.

St. Anne's Church
The first record of a church in Oxenhall is in 1186 - dedicated to Saint Anne, to whom only 23 churches in England are dedicated. With a growing congregation this little church continues to serve parishioners and most recently has had the chancel and vestry roofs restored together with internal refurbishment. Oxenhall lies between Ledbury and Newent in Gloucestershire in a charming rural setting. Much loved by local residents and visitors, St. Anne's is at the centre of community activities together with the almost 'time-locked' Parish Hall.

St. John the Baptist
To study the history of St John's is to become familiar with a certain family name - that of 'Whatley' . Between 1785 and 1964, five generations of the Whatley family served as Rector in Aston Ingham, with fathers being followed by sons in a way more like royal succession than clerical appointment! The church building itself was rebuilt in 1891 - the previous building had suffered from an increasingly-deteriorating condition, which necessitated complete rebuilding, though in a design which was sympathetic to the old church, and which managed to retain both the 13th century chancel arch and the 16th century porch.

St. Mary the Virgin Church
The Church of st. Mary the virgin, Church Lane, Rudford At the centre of the community is Rudford church, which nestles by the banks of the river Leadon. ‘Set in green pastures by the River Leadon’ from The king’s England, Gloucestershire by Arthur Mee. A church has stood on this site for the last 1200 years, one of the earliest sites of Christianity in Gloucestershire. The first recorded incumbent was 1297. The Church is steeped in history and it is known that cavaliers killed at the Battle of Barber’s Bridge in 1643 are buried in the chancel. The Church is not only important for its past, it plays a major role in the present life of the villages of Rudford and Highleadon. It marks the rhythm of life through baptisms, weddings and funerals, and it is a focal point for a number of village events. It is venue for splendid musical concerts, poetry readings, flower festivals, art and craft exhibitions, and attracts great support for all social functions.
